Engines And Transmission of Maruti Grand Vitara

The Grand Vitara shares the same powertrain choices with the Toyota Hyryder, including a 1.5-liter petrol mild-hybrid engine and a 1.5-liter petrol strong-hybrid engine, which produce 103PS and 116PS, respectively. The strong-hybrid engine features self-charging technology and has three driving modes, namely petrol, hybrid, and pure EV. On the other hand, the CNG variants come equipped with the same 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine but with a lower output of 87.83PS/121.5Nm, and are available only with a five-speed manual transmission.

The mild-hybrid engine can be paired with a five-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission, while the strong-hybrid engine is solely offered with an e-CVT. Additionally, all-wheel drive is only available on the high-end mild-hybrid variant.
